Entry Requirements

The entry requirements vary from programme to programme. The requirements are also different for Domestic and International students.

Domestic Students

  • New Zealand Citizen or Permanent resident;
  • School Leavers Age 16 and above must have completed at least Grade 10 and can demonstrate the necessary literacy and numeracy skills to succeed in an academic environment;
  • School Leavers over Age 18 who have completed at least Grade 12 or can otherwise demonstrate the necessary literacy and numeracy skills to succeed in an academic environment; and
  • Interview with Programme Lecturer or School Education Consultant
Special Admission

Domestic students (New Zealand or Australian citizen or permanent resident) aged 20 years or over that do not have formal University Entrance qualification, nor meet the criteria above may be eligible for Special Admission. Please contact us for further details.

International Students

  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Have met our English Entry Requirement:
    1. IELTS Score of 5.5* or higher; or
    2. Native Speaker of English; or
    3. From a country where English is the primary language; or
    4. From High School or Tertiary Institution where language of instruction is English

* Students applying for New Zealand Diploma in Business would require an Academic IELTS of 6.0

You also need to include the following with the application form:

  • A certified copy of your passport
  • A certified copy of your academic records for the highest level of schooling you have completed and any other relevant studies. If currently completing high school, please provide mid-year results – final high school results to be supplied before course start # You are required to bring a copy of your original academic records to the College for verification purpose.
  • Evidence of IELTS English language test results
  • 2 passport-size photographs (write your name on the back).

You may also like to include the following:

  • Copies of any references you feel are relevant to your application
  • A copy of your CV (Resume)

For Art & Design courses you also need to include the following:

  • A relevant portfolio: 3 - 5 representative samples of your recent creative work that reflects the range of your creative skills and potential. These can be any media e.g. digital images, paintings, drawings, sketches or workbooks; OR:
  • A 500-word essay outlining relevant background, experience, and interests as well as career goals

# Documents not in English should be provided with a certified translation.
